Japanese SHISEIDO PARLOUR Ginza Limited Edition Konpeito

The craftsmen adhered to tradition and spent 14 days to crystallize it. The etymology of Konpeito can be traced back to a kind of southern fruit, the Portuguese word "confeito", which means "candy". This dessert was brought to Japan by missionaries during the Azuchi-Momoyama period 400 years ago. It was a very expensive dessert at the time and is said to have been presented to Oda Nobunaga in 1569. This is a snack with a long history.
